I downloaded this to use with a friend. It wanted my email and to allow push notifications. I did both and it still wouldn’t let us play. Then I went to delete my account and it started spazzing out. Don’t touch this with a ten foot pole - it might bite you.

The opponent gets several doubles. I went two games with none. Statistically, this would not happen IRW. Deleted it.

Was good until last update. So slow now it’s unusable.

Every game I play seems to have a roll malfunction of some sort. Dice will roll exact numbers to bump off opponent but will re-roll two or even three times which results in different numbers to save opponent. Then their next roll takes me out every time. Opponents roll will re-roll until it gets the exact numbers to bump me off.

Interface is buggy. I timed out of two games because I was not allowed to make a legal move. Sometimes the first move would finally “take” just before my time ran out, leaving me just seconds to make my second move. Opponent winning the first move 3/4 of the time in 20 games seems a bit questionable. But it was only 20 games. Didn’t have problems with unusual doubles, re-entry, bearing off, etc. Sometimes I got lucky. Sometimes my opponent got lucky. But the board and graphics are too busy and difficult to use. Click through ad at bottom is too close to the playing surface and disguises itself as a game feature. Ads are loud and intrusive. Deal breaker was there was no way to close the app without turning off my phone. Inexcusable. After rebooting the phone I deleted the app.

I have played this game almost 400 games. Of the past 100 the opponent started 90 times. The opponent hit 97%of open pieces on first roll. 88 % of the time the opponent rolled all perfect rolls to set a block while I was in the bar while I rolled mostly doubles of blocked spaces. Thus game is nice setup but very rigged to win. I have won many in person championships but only have 58% wins here.

Despite the ‘fair roll’ statistics, I would say that 98% of the time I leave a checker open that the computer gets the EXACT roll it needs to take it out. Have two of them open: Yup... it gets the roll it needs to take both. Double six rolls by the computer when it needs it? Yup. The ‘fair roll’ statistics don’t reflect this because it’s always a different number needed... but test it yourself. Leave one open and 98% of the time it’ll be taken.

When you playing a game it will lock up some time and you have to exit and restart the game

The mechanics of this game malfunction way too much. If I play let’s say 5 games, 2 will malfunction. The malfunctions vary. In some instances it freezes and neither player can complete the game. In that case both lose and the works against each player’s statistics. They have a leaderboard so you can see for yourself how that alters the standings. Other times you can knock a player so he has to get back on the board but yet the player is about to move on his next play not having to get back on the board first. Please resolve these issues. In the meantime I’m going to find another App to enjoy backgammon with. As an all time top 1% player in this App I’m hoping the creators will find my comments helpful.

All the “1” reviews are spot on! Rarely getting 1st roll and when you do, it’s not a favorable one; opponent bearing off with high & needed doubles 3 or 4 times; hangs and/or disconnects in the middle of games for no reason; staying on the bar for several rolls even though there are many open spaces in the opponent’s inner table. I deleted after 5 days of use. There are far better BG apps out there. Don’t waste your time with this one....

Update....to original review...nothing has improved, now the ads for gardenscapes/ homescapes/ and now Phoner has sound EVEN IF you phone is set to silent. UNACCEPTABLE. Fix it please. Opponent almost always seems to win opening roll. Opponent also seems to always get the exact roll they need to get out on the first try after being hit. Whereas it takes me 5-6 rolls of the dice even if only has one spot occupied. Also the amount of doubles the opponent rolls is way more often than any normal set of real dice. This game used to be fun until whatever update screwed it up.

Play action is awkward, not a sin but annoying. The cardinal sin is that there are no, or at least I can’t find, game stats. That is what really teaches a player. It is also how you really know if dice are fair. I wouldn’t mind different board and piece choices either. The chosen design is busy and distracting. I have tried a number of backgammon games on Mac and droid. I play a lot offline. I cannot find a satisfactory backgammon game on iOS.

When playing offline rarely win the starting roll. AI will roll exactly what is needed to knock me off the board 7 out of 10 rolls. AI rolls far too many doubles when bearing off to be random.

This game is a pretty good game but it’s unbelievably laggy

The opponent always has the right dice to kick out the pieces. Not to mention the double dices that ‘conveniently’ is the right amount to either win or block the right spots. Whoever wrote this definitely has something against fairness. BS all the way.

Ok ok. It’s a good game. BUT SERIOUSLY THIS ISNOT FAIR. THREE TIMES IN A ROW SOMEBODY GOT DOUBLE SIXES. I GOT N9 DOUBLES. EVERY TIME THE CHECKER WAS NEAR IT FRIGGIN GAVE THEM THE NUMBER TO PUT MY CHECKER ON THE FENCE. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!! CHANGE ITTTTTTTTTTT

Over 95% of the time I lose the first roll of the dice at all levels. My last 30 games the app gets the exact dice roll every time it needs to knock me out. If app is going to win I wish it was because of strategy and not dice rolls.

Straight! The app keeps hanging and i keep loosing the games! Just cant see why they dont fix it! It’s been months now!

The only two complaints I have are that the opponent seems to win the opening roll way too much. The other complaint is that when I'm playing, I will suddenly be knocked out of the game and some weird page tries to load so I have to keep hitting my home button to take me out and back to the game. It's enough of a glitch it makes me want to go to another app. Please fix it. I'm on an iPhone. If it's supposed to be an advertising interruption, you need to make it so player doesn't get bounced out of the game!

The game has been fun to play offline. The AI is challenging enough for my tastes. Online play is also enjoyable. The main gripe I have is that the leaderboard is full of bots. There is no physical way to get some of the higher scores without playing (and winning every game) nonstop, 24/7 - Can they can get sorted and removed?

I played roughly 1200 games on this before becoming extremely frustrated with the absolute worst die generator I have ever used in a game. I’m deleting it. Do yourself a favor and find another game.

It started out fun until the icons would not move... then you got a notice.. YOU LOST! Now I know why my opponents suddenly “left” the game:( Bye for this app

I play against the computer. 9 out of 10 rolls has the computer win who goes first. I rarely get doubles and it throws them roughly every 3rd or 4th roll, and the game rolls exactly the numbers it needs to knock me off the board, or get past me almost every time. It’s just no fun when it’s not fair and I can tell what it’s goi g to do in response to the situation.

Not much of a game. The harder levels simply mean the AI gets better rolls. The odds of back to back double sixes are pretty steep. Not so in this game, unless your the human player. I predict you will tolerate it for a while and then just delete it like I did. Save yourself the stress and try a different app!

Things were fine up until about a week ago whenI started getting adds started taking over the game. During a play the add opens up then another and another. Today porn took over my game. I’m done. Thanks anyway.

This game is laggy, screen freezes and locks up. It's not my iPad or internet connection. Please fix the bugs in the game. It would be an awesome game. Even better than what it is now.

I keep loosing games because “my internet connection was lost” but it’s Not my internet. It’s the app. I don’t have this issue with any other app and my internet is state of the art.

I reiterate comments that have been placed before: the programmer has altered the dice randomness to favor the computer with higher difficulty levels. This is tremendously disappointing since the game is otherwise beautifully laid out. I suggest looking for a “more honest“ game.

I’m not the greatest player, but when the AI routinely rolls doubles back to back to back, something is wrong.

This was one of my favorite games. I played a match of this game every single day for several years. Now I am going to uninstall it and select a different game. The game is now slower and not fun/relaxing at all. Everything is reversed from the way it was and the movement of the playing pieces is ridiculous. It does notched up 7-point matches, only single games. I could go on and on about the negative changes. There was not a single positive change.

Bring back to old game, at least it was fun to play. The graphics are ridiculous and over the top with flipping tokens, flashing tokens, count down to rolling the dice. You've taken what was a simple and fun board game and trashed it.

You changed the entire game! This wasn't an update, this was a total remake of the game! I hate it!! Please change it back...I will now be looking for another Backgammon game!!

Everything is reversed from what it was. Deleted the game. Terrible layout on the new graphics. Stupid. Get new programmers.

Every new version of this game makes it worse. Now several times during the game a video appears that you can't get rid of that covers the board. Absolutely ridiculous. This is my last review on the stupid thing because I am removing an entirely. Every time I am beating this game it completely disappears. When I reopen the game it wants to start over and show me another 10 second video. The game will always and I mean always get what it needs when it comes to rolling the dice. Too bad. This started off nice and has gone downhill be the point of not being fun at all.

Ads are ridiculous. Rolls are VERY questionable at times.

Turn off the 'show possible moves' doesn't work. It's really annoying, I don't want all the pieces flashing. In addition, endless loop to send a support email, so posting a review instead.

First, the computer's rolls are just too lucky to be believed. Second, you can't drag and drop, so you have to tap to move. Third, there are way too many ads. I've deleted this game.

Not sure what the others are talking about. I have not had any issues with this game. It plays well and I've gotten hours of enjoyment from it. Well worth the $.
